Worshipping Through The Worries

Naturally, in life, we expect change. Change is normal. Time changes, the weather changes, and people change. Yet, when it's an unexpected change, it catches us off guard and throws us off balance. Have your plans for your future recently been diverted or changed drastically? Jeremiah 29:11 Declares the Lord knows the plan he has for you, and it's a plan to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. If you look around and your reality doesn't match His promise, then He’s not finished. Trust God with the final say.

Two months ago, I was on my way home from a business trip, and like any other trip, I prayed that we would have a safe flight home. We boarded the plane and then sat on the runway for two hours. With dreams of sleeping in my bed, I was exhausted and frustrated. The pilot briefly explained how one of our engines was broken, and it wasn’t safe to fly the plane. At that moment, I began to worry. I prayed again and went to find a cozy place to sit back in the airport.

Several hours had gone by, and then it dawned on me God had just saved me from what could have been a traumatizing or life-ending event. I swallowed my frustration right away and began to worship Him instead. Sometimes in life, we can be so busy worrying about all that could go wrong instead of thanking God for all that he had made right. That's why scheduling a moment to pause is so important. It gives us the time to pause and reflect on the goodness of God. Instead of giving satan the satisfaction, give God the glory!

Around 11 pm, we finally boarded our new plane home, and I made it home safely. That's how God works for us in our everyday lives. He sees ahead of us, and because we are His, he clears the way from the danger that would have come our way. It may have felt like your plans were purposefully held back or denied, but God saw differently. Your best is yet to come! He's only clearing the way so that you can have a safe journey ahead.
